Working
Toward a "Green Company"
The
recent ISO 14001 standards re-certification of the INFICON Cologne
facility in August 2008 is a further step in our efforts to implement
more comprehensive and sustainable guidelines and processes.
"Environmentally-oriented
management and processes are growing in importance in our industry," explains
Dieter Kuck, Environmental Manager for INFICON Cologne. "Building
awareness and increasing the use of sustainable processes is a key
part of our global business strategy - and our future success."
With the recent
re-certification by the DQS (German Standards Certification Association),
INFICON has focused efforts on three areas:
- Corporate level
(energy consumption, waste, packaging, & suppliers)
- Environmentally-compatible
construction
- Environmentally
neutral products & services
Dieter Kuck adds: "By
implementing and maintaining these guidelines and all the ISO 14001
standards, we, as a company and as working individuals, constantly
evaluate what aspects of our work are environmentally relevant; what
the environmental consequences are; and, what can we do to "get
greener.""
