Some people contend that water bath testing can detect leaks down to the 10-4 ... 10-5 mbar l/s range - is this true? Watch our "Water Bubble" video. It shows that even under ideal conditions, water bath tests detect leaks only down to the 10-3 mbar l/s range. In real life situations, such as the demonstration of the heat exchanger shown in the "Water Bubble" video, the actual detection limit goes up to the E0... E-1 mbar l/s range. In comparison, helium leak detection, even in sniffer mode, reliably detects leaks down to the 10-6 mbar l/s range. |
