Acquiring the Knowhow to Improve Your Hydrogen Leak Detector's Performance

INFICON strives to provide instruments that exceed your expectations. That's why last fall we enhanced our product offering with the acquisition of Sensistor AB, formerly a division of Pfeiffer Vacuum, in Linköping, Sweden. Sensistor has been developing, manufacturing and selling hydrogen leak detectors since 1985 and brings a wealth of experience to your production requirements.

To further strengthen our hydrogen technology expertise, on March 1, 2012 INFICON acquired the Linköping division of AppliedSensor, a designer and manufacturer of gas sensor solutions, mainly supplying the automotive industry.

INFICON will use the increased capability that Applied Sensor brings to further improve the performance of our hydrogen sensing technologies and the resulting hydrogen leak detection products that you rely on for maximum production.

About Applied Sensor

The Linköping division of Applied Sensor researches and develops hydrogen sensors, mainly for automotive applications in fuel cell and hydrogen combustion cars. Five developers with key knowhow in this area have moved to the INFICON facility in Linköping, strengthening the research and development group there. These developers also bring significant experience in quality control and Six Sigma, as well as proficiency in large scale production and software algorithms to INFICON.

With this acquisition, AppliedSensor consolidates research, development and production of gas sensing products to its facility in Reutlingen, Germany and divests its operations in Linköping, Sweden to its long-term strategic partner INFICON. INFICON and AppliedSensor in Germany will continue their strategic partnership.
