T-Guard Shortens Testing Cycles by 40%

A new software update for the T-Guard Leak Detection Sensor cuts testing cycles by 40%, with the addition of a new operating mode. With this update, measuring times of only 8 seconds can be used for e.g., leak rates of 3 x 10-2 to 10-3 mbar l/s in a free volume (chamber volume minus volume of the part) of one liter. The new testing mode (in addition to FINE and GROSS) make T-Guard ideal for testing components which allow small chamber volumes. With the new testing mode, the total cycle time is reduced by more than one third – from 13 to 8 seconds. As a result, T-Guard helps to increase the efficiency of automated leak testing systems in large volume production.

The T-Guard Helium Leak Detection Sensor closes the gap for integral leak testing between water bath / pressure decay testing and vacuum chamber testing and covers leak rate ranges between 10-2 and 10-6 mbar l/s. Testing can be conducted at atmospheric pressure in an accumulation chamber. There is no need for costly high performance pumps and highly sealed vacuum chambers and testing results are highly reproducible, even for warm or wet parts under test. Long cooling down or drying cycles before testing is no longer needed. T-Guard is compact and simple to install for easy integration, individual adaptation and maintenance-free operation. It offers different testing modes for flexible usage. Additionally, investment and operating costs are low. Helium leak testing without vacuum is ideally suited for components where fast automated quality control as part of the production line is a deciding factor for cost-efficient production.
