INFICON Leak Detection Expertise in Aviation

The need for innovative, faster and more reliable leak testing techniques is constantly increasing in the aircraft industry. The traditional methods of leak detection are pressure decay, ultrasonic, penetrant bubble test and smoke. However, experience proves that these methods have limited sensitivity and do not allow proper leak locating or leak quantification. The typical applications where INFICON leak detectors are used are leak detection on A/C systems, cooling circuits and fuel- and oxygen systems. The solution offered is based on using a tracer gas, or the gas/liquid already inside the tested system, to locate and measure leaks. The technology used offers the possibility to pinpoint leaks down to a fraction of an inch and to quantify leaks as small as the size of bacteria. INFICON leak detectors are easy to use and move around, and can be adapted to a variety of situations. Heavy-duty design, battery operation and explosion proof options allow for leak detection in all kinds of environments.
