Dear Reader,
This is our second edition of FPS Smart News, INFICON's bi-annual newsletter for the FPS product line. I hope you enjoyed the inaugural edition, FPS Smart News, September 2019. We received great feedback from our users, which we have incorporated into this edition. If you have not done so already, please be sure to sign up for future newsletters. This issue provides a combination of Smart Manufacturing / Industry 4.0 updates, FPS existing and new product updates, and an update on our worldwide regional growth initiative.
On the Smart Mfg / I4.0 front, I have been appointed the Software Co-Chair of the reformatted 2020 Semi North America Smart Manufacturing team. Special thanks to Bobby Mitra our new Chair from Texas Instruments, and our other Co-Chair, Thurston Taylor from TEL, who is representing OEMs. The team has established 3 core Smart Manufacturing pillars of Sensing, Connecting, and Predicting which enable the ROI expectations from Smart Solutions. Visit Semi Smart Manufacturing for more information.
We continue to leverage the power of our industry leading Digital Twin to provide new Smart solutions. Our Metrology Sampling Optimizer (MSO) product rollout continues and has created quite the industry buzz at a recent Semi Fab Owners Association (FOA) event where it was formally introduced. Check out the recent developments to the MSO product in this in this issue. We have also integrated the FabGuard® and FPS development teams to create our new Smart FDC product which you will hear about later this year.
We know that continuing to develop the latest Smart Manufacturing solutions is not enough. We must also have regional Centers of Excellence that can deploy our solutions and provide local points of contact and ongoing support. We are pleased to announce the establishment of our initial Centers of Excellence in South East Asia, Japan and Europe.
