FabGuard Web Hires an Interpreter

Steve Herbst – Software Engineer, Newton MA

We’ve made FabGuard Web even easier to use! Beginning in version 8.5.6, FabGuard Web offers the option of translating its captions and commands into languages other than English. As of this writing, FabGuard Web 8.5.6 supports the following languages (Figure 1.)

  • Chinese Simplified
  • Chinese Traditional
  • Czech
  • Japanese
  • Korean

Figure 1: Select a language using the dropdown menu in the upper right hand corner of FabGuard Web.

Figure 2: The Operation control tab of FabGuard Web shown in simplified Chinese.

Customers requested this feature to help employees with a range of language skills use FabGuard Web to its full capability, and to allow them to review data and handle excursions promptly and correctly. For some languages, you will see a mix of English and non-English words. The English technical words that are commonly used in daily production and operation remain in English (Figure 2.)

For the first phase of conversion, translation applies specifically to headings, link names, tab names, error and warning messages, and prompts. Some features of the web interface, including Report Settings and Alarm descriptions, require more time to translate due to their complexity. These will be included in a future release of FabGuard Web.

If you spot an error in translation, please email us so we can make the correction.
